Led by Governor Nathan Deal, Georgia political leaders and members of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.'s family came together on August 28, 2017 to unveil a commissioned statue of MLK on the grounds of the Georgia State Capital.
A capacity crowd attended the GLBC's Annual HERITAGE DINNER on Weds, March 15. 2017, with more than 650 guests in attendance. The theme of the evening was "A Call to Action; Celebrating Georgia's Women." Honored guests included Annie B. Andrews, (RADM) (Retired) and the 1963 'Leesburg Stockade Girls,' as well as business leaders from across the state.
On Friday, April 22, 2016, the Georgia Legislative Black Caucus, Inc. (GLBC), in collaboration with community partners, hosted its third annual GLBC Legislative & Advocacy Leadership Academy Youth Day at the State Capitol. This day-long series of presentations and interactive sessions will host approximately 200 high school students around the Metro Atlanta area.
