ATLANTA – State Rep. Al Williams (D-Midway), chairman of the Georgia Legislative Black Caucus (GLBC), will deliver the 2007 commencement address at Morris Brown College on Sunday, May 13. The ceremony will begin at 6 p.m. in the John Lewis Auditorium on campus.

“The members of the Georgia Legislative Black Caucus, the nation’s largest caucus of African American legislators, are rededicating our efforts to supporting Morris Brown College and recognizing its prominent place in history as a beacon of hope through education,” Williams said. “We support and pledge to assist the administration, faculty and students of Morris Brown College to regain its place in the community as a strong, fiscally stable, fully accredited institution of higher learning.”

-

As the alma mater of thousands who are leaders in government, education, business, technical fields and many professions, it is important that all Georgians join in helping Morris Brown College continue to attract and retain the best and brightest students seeking an opportunity for a future of greatness, Williams added.
